Horse Profiles, Race History and Longshot Winners - Site Improvements at Betvirtual

Here at Betvirtual we’re not ones to blow our own trumpets (ok, occasionally we might..), however, we have recently released some major changes to our website which we’re rather proud of.
So, let’s take a look:
Horse Profiles & Race History
The results and racecard pages of Betvirtual have always been really popular, however, there has always been a somewhat limited depth of knowledge. You could see if your horse placed in their race today, however, you had no way of seeing how your horse had performed over time. How many times has your horse ran previously? How many placed finishes have they had recently? What odds do they normally go off at? Well, now we can answer your questions...
Using popular horse Venus Bight as an example, this is where you can find out the information:
1) Summary
Here at the top section, you can see how many times your horse has ran in the previous 30 days (you can change this filter to be yesterday or previous 7 days), how many times they have won or placed and a simple bar chart to make it easy to understand in an instant.
2) Upcoming Races
The next section down is ‘Upcoming Races’ - this is where you can see when the horse is next running. Either click through to see the full racecard, or if you’re convinced it’s the horse for you, you can click directly to one of our betting partners to make a bet.
3) Placed Finishes
The final section is a full list of placed finishes.
Longshot Winners
Through launching our Horse Profiles, we were able to see which horses our users love (by seeing which profiles are most viewed) - and it turns out longshot runners (i.e. high odds winners) are the most popular.
For example, in the previous 30 days some of the most popular Horse Profiles are:
- Digital Pix - Won at 100/1 on 4th August
- Boom Boom Billy - Won at 40/1 on 30th July
- Assemble - Won at 80/1 on 2nd August
- Mr Jones - Won at 100/1 on 3rd August
So, that got us thinking, why not create a page where you can see all Longshot Winners for the previous 30 days in one place? So, that’s what we did!
Our Longshot Winners page has all of the winners for Portman Park, Steepledowns and Sprint Valley for the previous 30 days ordered by biggest odds.
The page is fascinating to keep an eye on - there are several whopping 100/1 horses that have ran at each racecourse in the past 30 days. Plus many horses in the 40/1 - 80/1 range. However, it’s worth keeping in mind that each racecourse has around 100 races per day or 3,000 races per month.
