Our favourite virtual horse racing courses are getting a major update to the graphics they use. Below, we take a look at what this means for you:

The previous viewing experience was clunky at best - you’re watching the races on a screen in a betting shop (as you can’t currently watch online), the screens are often small and you’re typically sat quite far away from them. Then, to make matters worse, the graphics are blurry and pixelated and the movement of the horses looks quite jolty and unnatural.

Safer Gambling Week is a campaign that is organised across the gambling industry, including operators and responsible gambling charities, and aims to promote safe gambling practices. The week-long event focuses on raising awareness about the potential risks of gambling, encouraging gamblers to keep their habits in check, and providing information on how and where to obtain help if gambling starts to become a problem.

Back in August 2020, we wrote a blog post wondering why we couldn't bet on Portman Park, Steepledowns, and Sprint Valley online. We were confused because there are lots of other virtual horse races available online at each of these bookmakers.

Well, guess what? As of March 2023, things have changed. You can now bet on Portman Park, Steepledowns, and Sprint Valley online at Boyle Sports, William Hill, Ladbrokes, and Coral. We're not sure yet if you will be able to bet on them at Betfred and bet365 any time soon.
